Founder & President -- Tom Gibson

Tom has more than 30 years experience in media relations and project management.  After receiving a B.S. in Business Management from Widener University, Tom worked for various public relations firms in New York City. He spent seven years at the global accounting firm KPMG LLP as an Associate Director in the corporate communications department. While at KPMG, Tom implemented strategic media relations programs to introduce new audit, consulting and advisory services products, securing placements in top tier media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, CNBC, CNN, Forbes, Fortune and Business Week. Tom directed the firm's national and international media relation efforts for several key industries, including automotive, alternative investment and funds (mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity), banking, investment banking, insurance, healthcare and real estate.   Tom's career also includes six years as the Public Relations Director for Financial World and Corporate Finance magazines.  He formed GIBSON Communications, LLC, in the fall of 2004.

Career highlights include:

  • Coordinated the global dissemination of KPMG's annual automotive and insurance industry outlook surveys. 2003 media coverage highlights include an exclusive feature story in the Financial Times; an Automotive News article, a CNNfn/Money article; a Best Wire article; Associated Press, Bloomberg, Dow Jones and Reuters news wire stories.

  • Awarded the prestigious MAX Award for Excellence in Marketing and Communications at KPMG in recognition of the coordination and dissemination of KPMG's fourth annual Automotive Industry Outlook Survey. 

  • Developed and managed financial/media relations programs at Porter, LeVay Rose, Inc., a New York investor relations firm with more than three decades on Wall Street.

  • Served as Public Relations Director at Financial World and Corporate Finance magazines from 1991 to 1996.
